We are going to start small today with a simple activity to help you get to know Photoshop and help me get to know you. You will use the tutorial found to the right along with a group of images that you will find online (large, high quality only please) to create your own Lettering Image.
You need need to first open up Photoshop. |

Desk Layering Activity
Use the images provided to create a layered desk like the example. You will need to cut out and mask each image cleanly.

Editing Graphics
Combine Images & Watermark:
Use the guide How to Combine Images to create a panoramic image (see image to the right). You will use the images provided and follow the guide. After you have completed this, read the How to Add a Watermark and add your own watermark to your Panoramic. Name this file LastnameFirstnamePanaromic.jpeg and turn this in to your class folder. Then read the Bitmap Vector Images file.

Color Correct & Fixing
Use the How to Correct Color to adjust the 2 images found here to change the images to look better Create color and black and white versions of each. Save all 4 images in a foldernamed LastnameFirstnameColorCorrect, name each file LastnameFirstnameColorCorrect__(BW1 or Color2).
Next adjust the image to improve the persons looks in the photo to the right and correct the baby's red eye problem. Use the How to Fix Images file to do this. Save the final image into your Color Correct folder above and name it LastnameFirstnameFixedImage1(or2). Then download the last image of London and fix the road so it doesn't have any pot holes or grates and move Big Ben over to the left like they did in the tutorial. Also edit for color and any other changes you think would improve the image. Save the image as LastnameFirstnameLondon. Now that your folder is complete, turn this in.

Cropping/Resizing & Selection
Us the How to Resize Crop to adjust the 3 flower images found here. Adjust the size resolutions on both and crop the images to center on 1 subject more closely. Change one to increasecd size and one to a decreased size. Rotate both images in some way. Save all images in a folder named LastnameFirstnameCropping, name each file LastnameFirstnameCrop1 (or Crop2).
Next use the How to use Selection Tools file to adjust the Butterfly and the Lighthouse like they did in the guide. Save the Butterlfy with background removed. and Save the lighthouse file as the 3 different versions you will create based on the guide. Save all the file images into your Cropping folder above and name it LastnameFirstnameSelection1(or Selection ). Last read the How to Generate Files Formats and save 1 file that you just created in the following formats:
Save each file as LastnameFirstnameTIFF (or Web or Print) and add them to your Cropping Folder. Now that your folder is complete, turn this in.

Collage Design Project
You will be creating a collage using multiple images and text to convey a message of some kind to your audience. You will need to choose a theme and brainstorm the message you want to project. Use the Internet (Google Images) to find images to work with. Make sure you are only choosing Large High Quality images to work with. You must use a minimum of 6 images. But, keep in mind; ALL images need to be modified in multiple ways. Use the skills and techniques we worked with in the classwork assignments during class. It is up to you what canvas size you will need. Remember to not only edit your photographs but to create a visually pleasing layout and design. When you have completed your collage, you will need to write a 2 paragraph paper reflecting on what you have create, what techniques you used, etc….
When you turn in your Collage save it as LastnameFirstnameCollage along with a folder of all of youroriginal images. Must include:
